Man rushed to hospital after being hit by car on Broomielaw in early hours

Police are trying to identify a man who was knocked down on the Broomielaw this morning.

An investigation has been launched after the man was struck by the Seat car on Anderston Quay just after 4am this morning (Wednesday).

He was taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries, where he remains.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 4.05am on Wednesday, October 9, police were called to a report of a man struck by a Seat car on Anderston Quay, Glasgow.

"The injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.

"Officers are working to establish his identity at this time and enquiries will continue into the cause of the crash."

As reported by Glasgow Live, the left hand side of the road was cordoned off at the stretch which sits opposite the Daily Record building.
