Police remain at scene after woman, 47, found dead in flat

Police remain at the scene after a woman was found dead in a flat.

Emergency services rushed to The Green, close to Queens Drive and The Rocket, at around 4.55pm on Thursday, November 25.

Once Merseyside Police arrived at the scene they found the body of a woman, 47, in one of the flats.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, aged 21 and 57 from Stoneycroft, and another man, aged 46 and from Norris Green were arrested on suspicion of murder and have been taken to police stations for questioning.

Initial enquiries are ongoing and at this stage detectives are treating the incident as unexplained.

Last night, 10 police cars, four forensics vans, a police dogs unit and North West Ambulance Service were in attendance at the incident.

Today, police remained at the scene and a cordon was still in place at the block of flats where the incident took place.

Pictures of the scene show multiple officers guarding the cordon and a police vehicle also there.

A previous statement from Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that detectives have arrested three men after the body of a woman was found at a home in Stoneycroft this afternoon, Thursday, November 25.

"At around 4.55pm, emergency services were called to The Green to reports of a woman, aged 47 years, being found at a house.

"She was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Initial enquiries are ongoing at the scene and at this stage detectives are treating the incident as unexplained.

"Three men (two aged 21 and 57 from Stoneycroft, and one aged 46 years from Norris Green) have been arrested on suspicion of murder and have been taken to police stations for questioning."
