Police remain at scene after body of pensioner discovered in Falkirk house

Detectives are continuing to probe the death of a pensioner in Falkirk, after his body was discovered in a flat.

A large police presence remains on Grahams Road in the town today as cops try to establish how the 73-year-old man died.

Officers have been seen knocking on doors and a section of the street is taped off.

Emergency crews raced to the scene at around 10:40am on Tuesday morning following reports of concern for a person.

A man, 49, is being questioned by police in connection with the death.

Detective Inspector Robert Andrews, from Falkirk CID, said: “Officers were called around 10.45am on Tuesday, 23 February, 2021, to a report of a concern for a person in Grahams Road, Falkirk.

"Emergency services attended and a 73-year-old man was pronounced dead within the property.

"A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened."
