Police release picture after 'creep' spits on woman's face and threatens to kill her dog in Leeds park

Police have released a picture of a man they want to speak to after a couple were spat on in a Leeds park.

West Yorkshire Police have released a picture of the man they want to speak to about the attack, which happened on Sunday, May 3, between 11.30am and 11.45am.

A 46-year-old woman was walking in Middleton Park, Leeds with her partner, when a man on a motorbike spat in her face and threatened to kill her dogs.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "We took a report of assault on May 3, between 11.30 and 11.45am in Middleton Park, Town Street.

"A 46-year-old woman, who was with her partner, took an image of the suspect when they saw him illegally riding an off-road bike through the park.

"He approached them and spat in her face and threatened to take her phone and kill her dogs before riding away. Enquiries are ongoing."

The woman's partner, Chris Braithwaite, told Yorkshire Live: "I am still in shock the creep spat on us

This comes after numerous other reports of people spitting and coughing on people amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In March, the Crown Prosecution Service announced that anyone 'coronavirus coughing' at someone could be arrested and sent to prison on assault charges.
