Police have released a new photo of a missing Edinburgh teenager who vanished five days ago.

Saffron Anderson, who is from the Leith area of the city, was last spotted leaving a property on Portland Street at around 2.30am on Thursday, November 7.

Concerns are now growing for the welfare of the 17-year-old who has still not been traced.

Police Scotland have since posted a fresh appeal with a new image of the missing teen.

She has been described as a white female of slim build, around 5ft 6ins in height with auburn hair which has been dyed black.

Saffron was last seen wearing a black jacket at the time of her disappearance.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A new image of missing person Saffron Anderson (17) from the Leith area of Edinburgh, believed to be a more up to date image, is now being released to assist in tracing her. Concern is growing for Saffron's welfare.

“Saffron has links to the city centre and Wester Hailes areas of the city.

“Anyone who may have seen Saffron since this time, or who has any information on her whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 0314 of November 7.

“Additionally, we urge Saffron herself to contact us.”
