Police release more details on boy being chased by a group with a knife in Nottingham city centre

Police have released more details about an incident involving a boy being chased by a group of boys with a knife.

The incident happened in Milton Street, Nottingham, with the boy being chased on to Mansfield Road at around 6.50pm on Thursday, January 9.

Initial reports made to police suggested the incident began in the intu Victoria Centre.

But detectives believe some of the group who were chasing the boy then returned to the city centre and then went into the intu Victoria Centre at the Clocktower entrance, before leaving on to Glasshouse Street.

Nottinghamshire Police's Detective Inspector Kayne Rukas, who is investigating the incident, said: “Initial reports made to us suggested that this incident began inside the Victoria Centre.

"We now know that a chase actually occurred from Milton Street on to Mansfield Road.

“So far no victim has come forward to us and we have not found anyone with any injuries as a result of what happened.

"We do however take all reports involving knives extremely seriously and we will thoroughly investigate this incident.

“I would encourage anyone who saw anything to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 755 of 9 January 2020”.
