Police probing an early morning assault in Edinburgh have released images of a man they think could help with their investigation.
The incident took place in George Street at around 3am on Wednesday, December 1.
The man pictured is described as white, around five foot, eight inches tall and of slim build with short, dark hair.
As seen in the images he was wearing a dark baseball cap, grey shirt, white-t-shirt, dark trousers and white trainers.
Edinburgh Police Division officers urge the man or anyone who has information about the incident to come forward.
Calls can be made anonymously to Crimsetoppers.
A spokesperson from the force said: "Police in Edinburgh have released images of a man they believe may have information that will assist their investigation into an assault, which occurred on George Street, Edinburgh around 3am on Wednesday, December 1.
"Anyone who recognises the man, or who has any information about this incident, is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting reference 0256 of December 1.
"The charity Crimestoppers can also be passed information anonymously on 0800 555 111."
