Police release images of 15 more people they want to speak to after Euro final disorder

Police have released more than a dozen new images of people they wish to speak to in connection with disorder at the Euro 2020 final.

Earlier this month, cops published images of ten people they wished to contact over the carnage which ensued as England’s men played in their first major tournament final in 55 years.

Now, detectives have released images of 15 more people sought in connection with violence and disorder on the day of the final, Sunday July 11.

“We are now looking to identify a further 15 individuals following our first appeal on Saturday, 17 July,” Detective Sergeant Matt Simpson, from the Metropolitan Police’s Public Order Crime Team, said.

“These individuals are wanted in relation to multiple different offences which led to the disorder at the Euro 2020 final."

England lost the final on penalties to the Italians, with Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho missing their spot-kicks.

Following the loss, the three men were subjected to horrendous racist abuse online — and in Withington, a mural of Rashford was vandalised.

However, the community came together to display messages of support for the Manchester United player — a response which the 23-year-old said left him on ‘the verge of tears’.

Following events at Wembley and in central London on the day of the final, in which scores of ticketless England fans allegedly stormed the turnstiles to gain entry to the final versus Italy, the Met's Public Order Crime Team launched an investigation to identify those responsible for any offences.

An initial appeal highlighted ten individuals linked to the disorder. With help from the public, seven of them have so far been arrested for offences including violent disorder and grievous bodily harm.

Three more individuals, separate to those pictured in the first appeal, have also been arrested for offences linked to the Euro 2020 final.

The ten arrested so far include two men from Stockton, three men and a 17-year-old male from Middlesbrough, two men from Margate, and one man from Margate and Liverpool.

Anyone who can identify the people in the new set of images being released is urged to call 101 or tweet @MetCC, providing the reference 7858/16JUL.

Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
