Police release image of woman they want to speak after elderly couple were pick-pocketed in city centre

Police want to speak to this woman after an elderly couple were pick-pocketed while walking through Manchester city centre.

Cash, jewellery and a mobile phone were stolen from the couple's bag as they walked between the Metrolink platform on Market Street and St Peter's Square.

The theft took place some time between 6pm and 6.30pm on September 21.

A post on the GMP City Centre Facebook page said: "Do you recognise this woman?

"We want to speak to her after cash was taken from an elderly couple's bag at some point between the Metrolink platform on Market Street and whilst walking to St Peter's Square tram stop between 6pm and 6.30pm on September 21.

"Cash, jewellery and a phone were taken."
