Police release image of man they want to speak with after huge Wigan fire

Officers investigating a suspected arson in Wigan have released images of a man they want to identify and speak to as part of their enquiries.

Police were called to reports of a large fire at Hardings Tyres on Moat House Street in the Ince area on Friday, July 10.

The blaze caused damage to numerous cars and businesses and local houses were also covered with debris from the tyres.

It is believed damage caused by the fire will equate to a six-figure sum.

Police want to speak to this man (GMP)

Images released by police today show a man in a grey-hooded top with a slim build and ‘distinctive walk’ on Moat House Street around the time of the attack.

Officers would like to speak to him in connection with the incident.

Anyone with any information about the incident or the identity of the man pictured should call police on 0161 856 7124 quoting incident number 349 of 10/07/2020.

Details can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
