Police release further details after woman is raped near tunnel at Clydebank park

Police are continuing enquiries after a woman was raped in a Clydebank park.

We previously reported that the 36-year-old woman was attacked while walking near the entrance to the tunnel leading to the Recreational Park on Canberra Avenue on Tuesday.

Officers now believe the incident took place around 11.30pm.

They have described the suspect as 5ft 10 with a local accent. He was wearing black jeans and a grey hooded top.

Detective Inspector Scott Hamilton, of Clydebank CID, said: "We're appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and has any relevant information.

"Similarly, if anyone has seen a man fitting this description in that area please contact us."

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 4516 of 17 Sep 2019 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
