Police release final footage of missing girl, 6, on bus as they race to find her

Police have released the final footage of a missing six-year-old girl on a school bus as hundreds of officers desperately race to find her.

Faye Marie Swetlik, from Cayce, South Carolina, US, went missing last Monday after returning home from school.

She was last seen in her back garden - and some believe she could have wandered into the woods.

The new clip shows the six-year-old, dressed in a t-shirt with the word 'peace' on it, getting up from her seat and walking off the bus.

The schoolgirl got off the bus at around 3.45 pm and is believed to have played in her front garden for a short while before she disappeared.

Sergeant Evan Antley said: "We're hoping for the best. We want to get Faye back home.

"So we're not leaving any stone unturned. We are exhausting every resource we have and then some.

"We're not sure if she just walked off and is somewhere in the woods or at a neighbour's house possibly in distress or fallen or something like that."

She was wearing a floral print skirt and polka dot rain boots when she went missing.

The girl is 3ft 10in, weighs 65lbs and has lactose intolerance and a speech impediment.

Faye has shoulder-length hair and has been described as a 'bubbly, energetic first grader'.

Her family, who reported her missing at 5pm, told ABC news: "Faye is a bubbly and happy little girl, she always wants to play and have fun.

Police are encouraging anyone with information about her disappearance to get in touch (CAYCE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY)

"She's not the type of kid that will up and walk away. Her mom was very attentive in watching Faye. Faye pays attention to her surroundings.

They added: "We just want to find Faye and bring her home."

On Tuesday, law enforcement officers released a photo of Faye before she got off the school bus,  the Sun reports.

They have now put out the full video of her leaving the vehicle in the hope that anyone who recognises her will come forward.

Police are also appealing for anyone with CCTV cameras in the area to get in touch.

Officers are not treating her disappearance as an abduction and anyone who can help the investigation is being encouraged to contact the Cayce Department of Public Safety at 803-794-0456.
