Police release e-fit of robbery suspect with uncanny resemblance to David Walliams

Police have released an e-fit for an armed robbery suspect - who bears an uncanny resemblance to David Walliams.

Officers released an e-fit image of a man - described as white, in his late 40s, with a round, clean shaven face and short brown hair - in relation to an attempted robbery in Doncaster last November.

Twitter and Facebook detectives were quick to pick up on the likeness to the Britain's Got Talent judge.

Danny Campbell commented on the South Yorkshire Police Facebook page: "Pretty sure that's David Walliams."

While Mark Green said: "Old David Walliams on rob in donny."

The actor himself then tweeted early this morning: "I think it might be me."

The David Walliams lookalike is suspected to have attempted to rob a 70-year-old man as he was getting into his car on 27 November 2019.

South Yorkshire Police replied to the Little Britain comedian: "We're still keen to identify this man so @davidwalliams if you're in the area please pop in and see our officers."

Police have asked anyone with information to call 101 quoting incident 468 of 27 November 2019.
