Police release details of man caught on CCTV after burglary at pizza takeaway

A man has been caught on CCTV stealing from the till of a pizza takeaway in Old Basford as part of a burglary where as much as £3,600 was taken in total.

The man broke into Mr Ts Pizza on Bagnall Road, Old Basford on January 23 between 2.59am and 5.05am and left with a safe containing up to £3,500, as well as £100 in cash from the till.

Nottinghamshire Police have released the image as they want to speak to the man pictured.

The still picture shows a man of Asian heritage, wearing a high visibility jacket and a beanie hat.

CCTV footage taken from a nearby store shows the suspect appearing from and exiting in the direction of Violet Close.

Police Constable Alex Treweek, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We would ask that anyone who recognises this man, or who may have more information about this burglary, comes forward and lets us know as soon as possible.

"We understand that as much as £3,600 was stolen during this incident, which took place in the early hours of January 23, and that the suspect would’ve been seen carrying the safe as he left the store.

“If you have any information that could assist us with our enquiries, we would ask that you please call us on 101 quoting reference number 193 on 23 January 2022.”
