Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked on a Motherwell street.
Officers have also released a description of an individual they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.
A 55-year-old man was making his way along Mentieth Road at around 3.15pm on October 6, when he was assaulted by another man.
The victim described his attacker as being in his 30s, with short dark hair and wearing a light coloured top and jeans.
He was driving a grey saloon style car.
During the course of the incident the perpetrator spat at and thereafter punched the victim several times to the head before driving off.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at that time.
A force spokesperson said: " Both witness and suspect were driving, it appears to have occurred following a road rage incident where the suspect has reportedly tried to cut in front of the witness who sounded his horn.
"The suspect then allegedly overtook the witness and braked causing both to stop where the assault has then taken place. It doesn't seem like any collision took place.
"The witness did not require any hospital treatment.
