Police release CCTV of man they want to speak to over stolen Mercedes

Police want to speak to this man after a grey Mercedes was stolen in Heswall.

The car is reported to have been stolen between 11.30pm on Wednesday, February 17 and 6.30am on Thursday, February 18, on Barnston Road.

It was later found by officers in the Newsham Park area of Liverpool.

Merseyside Police have now released CCTV stills of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

He was captured on two different CCTV cameras wearing a black hat and a hoodie.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured is asked to contact Merseyside Police.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said: "Detectives investigating a car theft in Heswall last month have released images of a man they want to trace.

It was reported that a grey Mercedes was stolen on Barnston Road, Heswall, between 11.30pm on Wednesday 17 February and 6.30am on Thursday 18 February.

"The car was later recovered by police in the Newsham Park area of Liverpool.

"Officers have now issued images of a man, captured from two different CCTV cameras, who they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
