CCTV images have been released of a man police think could help with their probe into a serious assault in North Lanarkshire.

The attack took place in Whifflet Street in the Whifflet area of Coatbridge at around 12.15am on Sunday, November 28.

The man pictured is described as being of slim build and of an average height, with light-coloured hair.

The man depicted in the CCTV footage was wearing a distinctive, North Face jacket at the time of the serious assault (POLICE SCOTLAND)

At the time the footage was captured he was wearing dark trousers and shoes as well as a distinctive, blue, camouflage, North Face jacket.

Police urge the man seen in the images or anyone who recognises him to get in touch.

Calls can be made anonymously to Crimsestoppers.

Detective Constable Shemain Murphy said: "I would urge the man depicted in the images, or anyone who has information relating to him, contact police via 101.

"Please quote reference number 0289 of Sunday, November 28 when calling.

"Alternatively, calls can be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
