Police release CCTV images after man is racially abused in Bristol store

Officers have launched an investigation after a man was racially abused in Bristol.

The victim, in his 40s, was in a store in Cater Road in Bishopsworth when the incident occurred on Friday, March 19, between 7.30am and 8.30am.

He was threatened and pushed by another man.

After the physical altercation, the thug unleashed verbal racial abuse on the victim.

Avon and Somerset Police are now attempting to track down a man they would like to speak in connection with the incident by providing CCTV images of him. In the photograph, he is wearing a Totterdown Gym hoody.

A force spokesperson said: "Officers investigating a racially-aggravated assault and public order incident are releasing an image of an individual they want to identify.

"At some time between 7.30-8.30am on Friday March 19, a man in his 40s was at a store in Cater Road, in Bristol, when he was threatened and pushed by an unknown male. He was also subjected to verbal racial abuse as well.

"Enquiries have been undertaken and show a man we wish to talk to in connection with our ongoing investigation.

"If you can help us identify this person, or witnessed what happened, please call 101 and give the call-handler reference number 5221058556."
