Police release CCTV images after cyclist seriously injured in Saltcoats crash

Ayrshire cops have released CCTV images after a cyclist was seriously injured in a crash.

The 62-year-old was involved in a collision at in the Braes Road area of Saltcoats at around 1.10pm on Thursday, April 29 and was seriously hurt.

Police believe the man in the images, who was in the area at the time, can help with their enquiries.

He is described as white, of medium build, and around 25 to 35 years old. He was wearing a light-coloured top, shorts and a dark cap and driving a small black or dark-coloured hatchback.

Sergeant Ian Thornton, from the road policing unit in Irvine, said: “As part of our ongoing investigation we are eager to identify the man driving the dark coloured hatchback as he may have information that can assist us.

“Anyone with information, or the man himself if he sees this appeal, is asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident 1464 of Thursday, April 29, 2021.”
