Police release CCTV image of man hunted over early-hours street attack on woman in Glasgow's West End

Police have released an image of a man they are hunting in connection with an early-hours steet attack in Glasgow's West End

A 21-year-old woman was assaulted on the pedestrianised Kelvin Way at around 3.50am on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

The unsuspecting woman was approached from behind by her attacker before being set upon, suffering "minor injuries". The assailant then fled off on foot heading towards Argyle Street and Sauchiehall Street.

Cops have now shared a CCTV image of a man they wish to question in connection with the incident and have urged the man, or anyone with any information, to come forward.

He is described as white, aged between 45-55 years, around 5ft9in to 5ft11in tall and is of slim build. He was wearing a dark jacket, white shirt and dark jeans at the time.

Detective Inspector Darren Munogee of Cathcart CID said at the time of the incident: “This was a frightening incident for the victim and despite it happening in the early hours of the morning, we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have seen the victim or suspect immediately prior to, or after, the assault."
