
Police are appealing for public help in relation to the assault and robbery of a woman in Lake Macquarie earlier this year.
A 61-year-old woman was returning home on Plane Street, Gateshead, about 3am on Thursday, July 9 when she was approached by a man who demanded the woman's handbag. He pushed her to the ground, grabbed the bag and fled the scene in a northerly direction to a waiting vehicle.
The woman sustained a minor injury but did not require medical assistance.
Lake Macquarie police were called a short time later and began investigating.
As inquiries continue, detectives have released CCTV footage of a man and a woman who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, wearing a white cap, dark coloured jumper and dark coloured pants.
The woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with blonde hair, wearing a grey hooded jumper and blue tracksuit pants.
The pair were seen leaving in a silver Nissan Navara ute displaying red P-plates, with a bull bar and aerials.
