Police investigating the theft of a television from a supermarket have released the image of a man they would like to trace.

At around 8.25am on March 20, police received a report of a theft from Asda at the Galleries Shopping Centre, Washington .

In the early hours of the morning, a man entered the supermarket and picked up a television, before leaving the store without paying.

An investigation is ongoing, and as part of their enquiries, police have identified a man they would like to speak to.

He was in the store at the time of the offence and could have valuable information that may assist officers.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 193 200319 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
