Police have released CCTV pictures of two men they want to speak after an off-duty police officer was attacked outside a supermarket.
The incident happened outside Morrisons on Stanley Road in Whitefield at around 7.30pm on Saturday, October 16.
Police said the off-duty officer, who wasn't wearing uniform at the time, was outside the shop when he heard a 'disturbance' inside.
Two men were chased out the supermarket by the store's security officers following a theft.

The officer started chasing after them on foot, identifying himself as a police officer.
He caught up with them and arrested one on suspicion of theft, police said.
But he was then hit around the head with a weapon and punched several times.
The men are then believed to have fled towards Elms Road.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Police have now released CCTV pictures of two men they want to speak to in connection with the attack.
