Police relaunch search for Ballarat mother

Detective Andrew Stamper says the family of missing woman Kobie Parfitt is desperate for answers. (AAP)

Police will return to Ballarat this week to search a stretch of bushland near the west Victorian town in a bid to solve the suspicious disappearance of a 43-year-old woman.

Kobie Parfitt was last seen in Ballarat on April 28 and police believe she was killed that day.

Authorities will search for her remains in an area of bushland in Snake Valley, about 30 minutes away from the regional city.

Earlier this month police raided the Ballarat property where Ms Parfitt was last seen alive.

"Since (April 28) there's been no contact, no trace whatsoever of Kobie, which is completely out of character," Detective Inspector Andrew Stamper said in a statement at the time.

Det Insp Stamper told ABC Ballarat that Ms Parfitt had a challenging life around drugs and crime, and she had been estranged from her family for several years.

But he said her family was still grieving for her and is desperate for answers.
