KOLLAM: Sakthikulangara police have registered a case against Sunija in connection with the death of her daughter-inlaw Anuja (22) of Kannimelcherry in West Kollam on Saturday.
Anuja, wife of Satheesh of Pulinchikkal house at Kannimelcherry, was found hanging in their bedroom on June 30 night. Husband and relatives brought her to a private hospital and later to the private medical college. On Friday, she was shifted to Medical College Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, and she died on Saturday morning.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Anuja’s parents — Ani and Rajeswary in Sakthikulangara —that Sunija used to mentally harass their daughter.
A team led by ACP A Pratheep Kumar is conducting a probe.
