A scrambler bike crash which killed a 26-year-old woman is being investigated by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
The young woman died after she was hit by the off-road bike on March 1.
Emergency services were called to Court Hey Road, in Huyton, and the woman was rushed to hospital.
The woman was treated for serious injuries at the scene but she sadly died on Friday, March 5.
Police said the scrambler bike rider remains in hospital, receiving treatment. The 29-year-old's condition has been described as serious, but stable.
On Friday, the force confirmed the incident was being looked at by the Independent Office of Police Conduct.

A spokesman from the IOPC said: “The IOPC has begun an independent investigation into a collision on Court Hey Road, in which a 26-year-old woman has sadly lost her life. Our thoughts are with her loved ones.
“We received a mandatory referral from Merseyside Police as a police vehicle was present at the time of the incident.
“We are investigating the circumstances of the fatal collision in respect of any police connection to it due to the proximity of the police vehicle.”
It was reported there was a police pursuit before the crash, but the IOPC have clarified this is not true.

A spokesman for the force said: "The pedestrian was treated for serious injuries at the scene, and taken to hospital for further treatment. She sadly died from her injuries on Friday 5 March.
"Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
"The rider of the bike, a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he remains receiving treatment. His condition is described as serious but stable.
"CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing.
