Police recover stolen car, two cellphones from burglar in Maharashtra's Nashik

NASHIK: The Nashik city police arrested a criminal on police record and during the course of his interrogation found that he had stolen two cellphones and one four- wheeler.

The accused person is identified as Kiran Waghmare, resident of Mumbai Naka.

The police said that constable Mahesh Salunkhe of crime branch Unit 1 had received information that Waghmare was involved in some theft cases in the city.

Subsequently, the police arrested Waghmare and during his custodial investigation, the latter confessed to have stolen two cellphones from the Sarkarwada and Nashik Road police stations and had also stolen a hatchback car from the Gangapur Road area.

The police recovered the two cellphones and the car all worth Rs 3.23 lakh from him.

The investigation was done under the guidance of CP Ankush Shinde.
