Police recover containers of stolen fuel from vehicle that failed to stop

Officers from Northumbria Police's Road Safety Unit recovered a vehicle in Newcastle on Thursday night (January 20) after its driver had initially failed to stop for the force's Motor Patrols team.

With the help of the force's Dog Section and the National Police Air Service North East Region, however, the vehicle was brought to a halt.

Inside the vehicle officers found numerous containers of fuel from recent thefts.

People are reminded to dial 999 in an emergency, or otherwise contact police via the 101 non-emergency number.
