Police recover £130,000 worth of cannabis during raid on Lanarkshire home

Police have recovered £130,000 worth of drugs after swooping on a Lanarkshire home.

Cops made the recovery in Rutherglen around noon on Thursday (April 14).

A 24 year-old man has been arrested in connection with the seizure and was scheduled to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today, Saturday, April 16.

The incident happened in the town's Baronald Street, after police executed a warrant and discovered a cannabis cultivation there.

Inspector Kevin Miller, of Rutherglen police office, stated: “We have taken drugs off the street during this operation and have arrested one individual.

"Taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland and we will ensure Rutherglen remains a hostile environment for anyone looking to engage in criminality.

"Anybody with any information or concerns about drugs within their community should contact Police via 101 where we can then investigate."
