Police reach out to New Orleans cops to trace relatives of Paisley woman

The Renfrewshire Police Division has reached out to colleagues in the US in a bid to trace relatives of a woman who died in Paisley.

Kelly Edmiston was sadly discovered dead at her home yesterday (January 5).

Local police believe the 63-year-old may have family in New Orleans, and have tagged the New Orleans Police Department in their social media appeal in a bid to find them.

Officers say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Kelly's death as they urge anyone with information to come forward.

They released a statement which says: "Police are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing relatives of 63 year old Kelly Edmiston who was found dead at her address on 5th January 2021.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

"It is believed her family may have moved to New Orleans and so if anyone knows of her whereabouts or who has knowledge of Kelly's family is asked to contact the Enquiry Department at Paisley Police Office on 0141 532 6003 during officer hours Monday to Friday or email Renfrewshire Inverclyde DASU - RenfrewshireInverclydeDASU@scotland.pnn.police.uk."
