Police raid Kingswood cannabis tent and 'find address left behind'

Police have discovered a cannabis grow in a tent in Kingswood.

It is the latest in a series of raids on drug farms in and around Bristol during recent months.

Police attended Belsher Drive at about 11.10am on Friday (April 30). Around 15 small suspected cannabis plants were seized, said an Avon and Somerset police spokesman.

There have been no arrests as of today (May 5), but police appear to be confident of a prosecution, from a Facebook post by the South Gloucestershire neighbourhood policing team.

It reads: "If you go down to the woods today you're sure for a big surprise, we've taken your cannabis tent away, but you left your address behind... #knockknock #kingswoodbeatteam #neighbourhoodpolice."

It comes after police raided a much larger farm for the Class B substance last month in Staple Hill. The Overnhill Road grow had around 233 plants.

And around 600 plants were discovered in a Westerleigh Road home, also in Staple Hill, in March.

Police seized around £1.5million of cannabis in another March bust, finding up to 2,000 plants in a warehouse on Jubilee Way, Avonmouth.

The force also found 199 cannabis plants in a home on Whitehall Road, Easton, back in February.
