Police race to scene of 'ongoing incident' in Scots town centre

Police have raced to the scene of an ‘ongoing incident’ in Grangemouth.

Police were called the scene having received reports of concern for a person in the town centre around 2.20pm on Saturday April 17.

Pictures from Kerse Road and Dundas Street show a number of police vehicles and officers in attendance.

They are also reported to be at a nearby address in Ceder Street.

Locals report seeing six vans and two dog units at the scene, however police are yet to confirm.

The nature of the incident not known at this time.

An eyewitness said: “I heard lots of sirens and then a few vans pulled up, I looked out five minutes later and there was police dogs too.

“There’s loads of cops here now, both Dundas Street and Kerse Road are swimming with officers.

“A dog section van sped away, and they’re now at a house on Ceder Street just along the road.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report raising concern for a person in Grangemouth town centre around 2.20pm on Saturday, 17 April.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and are at early stage."
