Police race to scene of Ardrossan 'stabbing' as two men hospitalised

Police raced to the scene of an alleged stabbing in Ardrossan which saw two men hospitalised.

Cops were called to reports of an altercation involving a group on Glasgow Street in the North Ayrshire town around 6.45pm on Saturday August 1.

Two people, aged 41 and 45, were rushed to hospital for treatment, with one believed to have been stabbed.

Officer arrested three people - aged 46, 54 and 51 - and charged them in connection with the incident.

They are due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday August 3.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called to Glasgow Street, Ardrossan, at around 6.45pm on Saturday, August 1 following an altercation involving a number of men.

"Two men, aged 41 and 45-years-old suffered injuries that required hospital treatment.

"Three men, aged 46, 54 and 51-year-old have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. All three are due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, August 3."
