Police race to scene after reports of gunfire in Stepps

Police have rushed to a property in Stepps following reports of a firearm being discharged.

Officers are in attendance at Flynn Gardens after being called to the scene at 7pm this evening.

A spokesman for the force confirmed they are in the area investigating the incident.

He said: "Around 7.00 pm on Monday, 30 December 2019 officers attended Flynn Gardens in Stepps following the report that a firearm had been discharged at a house.

"No-one has been injured and enquiries, which are at an early stage, are ongoing.

"Officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area and are asking anyone with any information about the incident to call Police Scotland on 101 - quoting incident number 3296 of 30 December 2019."
