Police race to major incident in Fife as two men arrested in connection with 'disturbance'

Two men have been arrested following a major police incident in Fife which saw cops race to a block of flats.

Dozens of emergency service vehicles rushed to the scene at Cross Street in Dysart, near Kirkcaldy, at around 11.20am on Wednesday.

Officers had received reports of a disturbance within a flat and quickly arrived to contain the incident.

The Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also scrambled to support cops at the scene.

Police Scotland confirmed that two men have been arrested and said there was no wider risk to the public.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We can confirm that two men, both aged 32, have been arrested in connection with a disturbance at a property on Cross Street in Dysart.

"Officers attended the property shortly after 11.20am on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.

"The incident was contained to within the single property and there was no wider risk to the public."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also confirmed that they were in attendance.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 12.09pm on Wednesday, July 29 to assist emergency service partners at an address in Dysart, Fife.

"Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances."
