Police swooped on a Hamilton hotel yesterday after the body of a man was found on the premises.
Witnesses said officers sealed off the car park at the Hampton by Hilton at Hamilton Park Racecourse on Bothwell Road.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also on the scene shortly after 12pm on Wednesday.
The death of the man is being treated as “unexplained”.
One witness, who lives nearby said: “Cars trying to access the hotel have been turned away.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers were made aware of the death of a man within a hotel on Bothwell Road in Hamilton around 12.15pm on Wednesday, 26 February, 2020.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained, pending a post-mortem examination.”
The Hampton by Hilton Hotel in Hamilton declined to comment.
