Police race to Falkirk incident as witness reports 'blood pouring' from boy's face

are probing an incident in Falkirk amid reports a 'boy' was 'assaulted' with 'blood pouring down his face and onto the street'.

Emergency services raced to Vicar Street in the town on Sunday evening.

The road was closed off in both directions as officers launched an investigation .

One witness claims a 'boy' suffered major head injuries where blood was gushing from his head.

In a post shared on Facebook they wrote: "I had to change his dressing on his head three times because he was losing that much blood.

"It kept soaking through the dressings. 

"There was blood pouring from his face all the way down the street."

At around 7.45pm Falkirk Police wrote on Twitter: "Vicar Street in Falkirk is currently closed.

"Please be aware and use alternative routes where possible."

Eyewitnesses had earlier reported that a police officer was injured in the incident, but cops confirmed that was not the case.

Police Scotland area commander for Falkirk, chief inspector, Christ Stewart posted:

"No Police Officer has been injured or hurt.

"Officers are dealing with an incident whereby a member of the public was assaulted.

"A police officer was on the road assisting the injured person."

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Daily Record: "We we called to an incident on Vicar Street in Falkirk on Sunday night.

"A cordon was placed on the road, the road has now reopened.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
