Police pull suspect driver over...and find hundreds of fake McDonald's coffee stickers

A man arrested on suspicion of drug-driving has ended up in even more heat with the police.

When the motorist was stopped in Bradford, police found hundreds of fake McDonald's coffee stickers in his vehicle.

The counterfeit stickers were similar to the ones the fast food chain gives out as part of their loyalty scheme - where six stickers entitles you to a free regular seventh cup.

Steerside Enforcement Team, who are police officers covering the Bradford District dealing with anti-social and criminal driving, tweeted a photo of the copycat sheets.

Their post read: "Male arrested for drug driving in @WYP_BradfordS also dealt with for a fraud offence when multiple sheets of fake @McDonaldsUK coffee stickers were found in his vehicle.

"It may seem inconsequential, but it is illegal to cheat a company like this."

Adding: "Just pay for your coffee! [coffee emoji]."

A social media user replied to the post: "Your work - I'm lovin it".

West Yorkshire Police gave the driver a "community resolution" for fraud in relation to their discovery.

They confirmed the unnamed male will be summonsed to court for the drug-driving offence.

A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "Anyone attempting to use what our restaurant teams believe to be counterfeit stickers will be declined their free coffee."
