Police pull over Lamborghini Aventador in Nottingham for missing number plate

A Lamborghini worth more than £270,000 was pulled over by police in Nottingham after officers noticed it had no front number plate.

Nottinghamshire Police's city centre team said officers stopped the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ on Thursday, April 8, because of "one issue" in particular.

The force said it was missing a front licence plate.

According to the Government, drivers can be fined up to £1,000 for failing to display a a number plate correctly.

The vehicle may also fail its MOT.

Current vehicle registration formats were introduced in 2001 and requires drivers to display both a front and rear plate, easily visible, with any numbers and letters correctly spaced and not rearranged.

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, which stands for Super Veloce Jota (meaning 'superfast'), can reach 62mph in just 2.8 seconds.

It's V12 engine allows the track-spec car to reach a top speed of almost 220mph.

The force added: "All cars in the UK are required to display front and rear number plates.

"Just for fun for those of you old enough to remember 'spot the ball', like us, can you show us where the number plate is supposed to go?"
