Police pull body from River Clyde in search for missing Scots pensioner

Police have pulled a body from the River Clyde in the search for a missing pensioner.

David Fletcher was found dead at the rear of the Transport Museum around 9.30am yesterday.

The 71-year-old from Giffnock, East Renfrewshire was last seen in Glasgow City Centre on the evening of Thursday, December 9, 2021.

Now cops have made his family aware of the tragic their tragic find at Pointhouse Place in Glasgow.

Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that the body of a man has been recovered from the River Clyde.

"Officers were called to the river, at the rear of the Transport Museum around 9.30am, on Sunday 2 January 2022.

"The deceased has been formally identified as David Fletcher, 71, who was last seen in Glasgow city centre on Thursday, 9 December, 2021. His family are aware.

"There are no suspicious circumstances, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
