Police probing 'terrifying attack' in Motherwell bookies release images

Police are releasing images of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries into an assault with intent to rob that occurred around 9.25pm on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Paddy Power Bookmakers, Brandon Parade East, Merry Street, Motherwell.

The man is described as white, 5ft 5ins to 5ft 8ins, 35 to 45 years of age, short greying hair, wearing a blue coloured hooded top, grey jogging trousers and black trainers with white sole.

Detective Sergeant Scott Wilson, Wishaw Police Office, said: “This was a terrifying attack on a member of staff, who was simply going about her duties in her place of work. This is a busy area and I would urge anyone who either saw this man, or who recognises his description to come forward to contact us.”

Any information should be passed to Detectives at Wishaw Police Office through 101, quoting reference number 4281 of 2nd March 2019.  Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.
