Police probing deliberate fire in Paisley that left property 'extensively damaged'

A police investigation has been launched after a property was set on fire in Paisley.

A deliberate blaze was started at the Tannahill Road property around 1.45am on Saturday causing extensive damage.

Luckily no one was injured as a result of the incident.

Police are now hunting those responsible and are calling on anything who was in the area and witness anything suspicious to get in contact.

Detective Constable Talia Eadie of Paisley CID said: "Enquiries are continuing however at this time we are treating the fire as wilful. It has caused extensive damage to the property. No one was injured. “

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to identify those person responsible, including reviewing CCTV from the area.

“Anyone with information that may assist our investigation, or who may have been in the area of Tannahill Road who witnessed anything suspicious early on Saturday morning should contact police as soon as possible. I would also ask anyone driving in the area who has dash-cam, or anyone with personal footage to check in case it holds information that may assist us.

“Any details can be passed to police through 101 quoting incident no 0346 of 14 May. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0346 of 14 May, where anonymity can be maintained.”
