Police probing death of tragic Scots dad found injured on M876 say 'no suspicious circumstances'

Police have said the death of a young dad who died after being found seriously injured on a Scots motorway is not suspicious.

Emergency services were called to J2 of the M876 in Falkirk, at around 12:20am on Wednesday August,4.

They found Stuart Michael badly injured and rushed him to nearby Forth Valley Royal Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Police Scotland initially reported yesterday that the 29-year-old dad of two had been hit by a vehicle, but it's is now understood that is now not the case.

Officers say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident though and that they're not looking for anyone else in connection.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers investigating the death of a 29-year-old man who was seriously injured on the M876 at junction 2 near Larbert around 12.20am on Wednesday, 4 August, 2021 are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
