Police probe 'unexplained' death of woman after body found in flat

The death of a woman found in Paisley is being treated as unexplained.

The grim discovery was made in St James Street shortly after 8am yesterday,

And now an investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances that led to her death.

The emergency services raced to the scene on Monday morning.

A passerby told the Paisley Daily Express: "There were at least two police vans and an ambulance there and more officers coming and going."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Express: "Around 8.10am on Monday, the body of a woman was discovered at an address on St James Street, Paisley.

"A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death, which police are currently treating as unexplained."
