Police probe 'unexplained' death as body of man is pulled from river in Aberdeen

Police are treating the death of a man in Aberdeen as "unexplained" after his body was recovered from a river.

The discovery was made in the River Don on Saturday after reports of "concern for a person".

Police were called near to Grandholm Drive this afternoon, where the body was recovered from the water.

An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of the death.

A force spokesman said: “ Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man has been found within the River Don, near to Grandholm Drive in Aberdeen, on Saturday, January 11.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
