Police probe ‘unexplained’ death after man’s body found in Paisley garden

An investigation is underway after a man’s body was discovered in a Paisley garden yesterday morning.

Detectives probing the grim find, which happened in Dalskeith Road in the Ferguslie area of the town, said they are treating the death as “unexplained”.

Officers sealed off a block of flats as enquires into the man’s sudden death got underway.

Members of the public alerted the emergency services at around 8am after a man’s body was found outside in a garden area.

When paramedics arrived it became clear the man had already died.

Police in Paisley have now launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Detectives carried out door-to-door enquiries in the area and tried to identify CCTV opportunities.

Four police cars were parked outside the block throughout the day yesterday.

Investigators have yet to reveal the man’s name or age but it’s understood his family is aware.

A post-mortem is expected to be carried out on the body in due course.

A Police Scotland spokesman last night said officers are investigating the shocking discovery but that enquiries are at an early stage.

He said: “Officers were called to an address in Dalskeith Road in Paisley at 8am yesterday morning following the sudden death of a man.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing”.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
