Police probe underway into reports of parts being stolen from cars in Glasgow's east end

A police investigation is underway into reports that individuals are stealing parts from cars in the east end in broad daylight.

Officers were called to Sword Street in Dennistoun yesterday afternoon around 2:30pm by a local resident.

Local reports suggest the culprits are jacking up cars and then stealing catalytic converters - and have targeted three cars in the area with the same tactic in the past few days.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We were called to Sword Street, Glasgow around 2.30pm on Saturday 28 February to reports of parts being stolen from cars.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
