Police probe "targeted attack" after car set on fire in Wishaw street

A car was set on fire in a Wishaw street which police are describing as a targeted attack.

The incident happened on Pentland Road around 4.50am on Monday, May 4, when an Audi A4 was set on fire.

A nearby Peugeot 407 was also damaged as a result of the fire but nobody was injured.

The suspect is described as wearing dark clothing and possibly ran off in the direction of Craigneuk.

Detective Constable Sandy Orr, of Wishaw CID, said: “We believe this was a targeted attack and are appealing for anyone who has any information relating to this or saw any suspicious behaviour to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0431 of 4 April 2020 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
