A police investigation has been launched after an Aberdeenshire house was deliberately targeted in a fire attack.
The alarm was raised at around 9pm on Monday, February 22, after a residential property was torched in Marischal Street, Peterhead.
Brave residents swiftly extinguished the blaze before the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene.
While no one was injured, police believe the fire was started deliberately and are appealing for witnesses.
They are especially keen to speak with any motorists who may have dash cam footage from the street or the Tolbooth Wynd area
Detective Constable Ian Morrison, of North East CID, said: "Firstly, I would like the thank members of the public for their assistance so far.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the Marischal Street or Tolbooth Wynd area of Peterhead around 9pm on Monday and saw any suspicious activity to contact police.
“If you were driving in the area at the time, and have a dash-cam, please check back to see if there is any footage that could assist our investigation."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 and quote incident number 3802 of Monday, 22 February, 2021.
