Woman's body found in Paisley flat as police probe sudden death

Police have revealed they are treating the sudden death of a woman in Paisley as “unexplained”.

The discovery of a body at a flat in the town’s St James Street yesterday sparked a major emergency response.

Cop cars and ambulance crews raced to the scene shortly after 8am.

A probe is now underway to establish the exact circumstances of the woman’s death.

One passerby described seeing a huge police presence at the scene.

She said: “There were at least two police vans and an ambulance there and more officers coming and going.”

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Express: “Around 8.10am on Monday, the body of a woman was discovered at an address on St James Street, Paisley.

“A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death, which police are currently treating as unexplained.”
